ABOUT ABOUT

MCLA will take a group of students to participate in Arts Advocacy Day in Boston on Tuesday, March 28, 2017.

Convened by MASSCreative, Arts Advocacy Day will bring together the creative community to show our state political leaders that arts matter in Massachusetts.

Join us for a morning at the Paramount Center in downtown Boston and an early afternoon at the State House. After a morning of mingling, celebrating arts & culture, and sharpening our advocacy skills at the Paramount, we will travel together in an 'Arts Matter March' to the State House. When we arrive, we will meet with our legislators about arts and cultural issues, including the state budget. Together, let’s send the message: arts matter in Massachusetts.

The Details:

  • The bus will leave MCLA campus promptly at 6:00 am
  • The bus will return to MCLA campus between 6:00 and 7:00 pm
  • You will need to bring your own breakfast/lunch/snack or bring money with you to purchase food.  All remaining expenses will be paid.
  • Seating on the bus is limited.  Please do not reserve a spot if you will not use it, as you will be eliminating another person's opportunity to attend.  If you must cancel for any reason, please do so with as much advance notice as possible, so another may take your spot.
  • If you have class conflicts on the day of this event, please speak with your professors to get their permission to attend.  If you would like for an "official" email request be made to your professors, please contact Diane Scott at [email protected] ASAP to make the request(s) on your behalf.  You need to provide Diane with a list of the classes you will be missing and your professors' names.
  • Please only reserve one ticket for yourself, so we have complete contact information for all who are attending.
  • Provide your mobile phone number at the time of registration, so we have a master list to contact people with last minute information.
  • If you have questions about this event, please contact [email protected]
