The FPA Theatre Program presents Timberlake Wertenbaker's award-winning play based on Thomas Keneally's best-selling book, 'The Playmaker.' Inspired by the letters and journal’s of Australia’s founders, OUR COUNTRY’S GOOD tells the story of a group of transported convicts and the British Lieutenant charged with directing them in a play. Under the specter of hanged felons, the prisoners rehearse for their lives. The play is a moving portrait of hardship, survival, and the regenerative power of drama.
